Event description

Description

This writing course conducted over two Saturdays, 23 and 30 November, 10 am - 4 pm, will set you on the journey of writing your life. In a creative and supportive environment, it offers ways of accessing memories, of finding your writing voice, of bringing the details to life, of creating the lived reality of experience on the page and beginning to find its structure. There will be readings, discussions and writing exercises with individual comment on your work.

The set text required for this workshop is Writing True Stories by Patti Miller (A&U). Available at good bookshops please order in plenty of time.

Morning tea and afternoon tea will be provided. Participants will be required to make their own arrangements for lunch.

Patti Miller is the author of nine books: the best-selling Writing Your Life, The Last One Who Remembers, Child and The Memoir Book, all published by A&U, Whatever the Gods Do, Random House, the award-winning The Mind of a Thief (now a VCE text), Ransacking Paris, both published by UQP, Writing True Stories A&U and this year, The Joy of High Places published by NewSouth.
