Into the Wild is a concert series brought to you by MSR Entertainment in conjunction with Mid Coast Council featuring touring acts from around the country as well as great local musicians and entertainers.

Moorland Hall Committee will be putting on a bbq with proceeds towards the hall. Vegetarian and Vegan options. or BYO.

Coffee Van will bve onsite.

CJ STRANGER:

CJ Stranger combines old school Australian storytelling with indie-rock grit and a constantly adventurous guitar style. He’ll draw you in with humorous comments on the absurdities of everyday life before making you feel like you’re the main character in an old folk-tale of woe. His unique guitar playing has been widely recognised having worked with renowned Australian artists including William Crighton, John Schumann (Redgum), Middle Kids, Lisa McCune, Melody Pool, Coda Chroma, Angie Who as well as performing onstage in theatre productions such as ‘Girl from the North Country’ (Bob Dylan). His 2020 album ‘Hey Stranger’ receive critical acclaim and widespread airplay across the country including Triple J and Double J. Listeners have often spotted influences such as Paul Kelly, Kurt Vile and Bob Dylan in CJ’s songs combined with a guitar sound landing somewhere between Ry Cooder and J. Mascis. CJ (the alter ego of Cameron Henderson) lives on Darug Country, Blue Mountains, Australia.


THE MARVELLOUS HEARTS:

Join the Marvellous Hearts Trio for a soulful journey through Capt Bluetongue's original tunes. Stripped back to acoustic guitar and violin & double bass, their music accompanies Capt Bluetongue's gritty, heartfelt vocals and lyrics. Carlyn Chen weaves through the lyrics with her violin, enhancing the storytelling with her strings with Si Costello on double bass providing a steady heartbeat. Experience their enchanting blend of music and narrative, celebrated by folk peers and festivals alike, including recent highlights at The Veranda Festival in Tasmania, The Northern Beaches Music Festival, Southern Sydney Folk Club, and intimate house concerts across NSW.


MAX MARVELL:

Max Marvell is a dynamic solo artist whose music transcends genres, seamlessly blending blues and country with rock and pop influences. With a soulful voice & acoustic guitar, Max captivates audiences with his heartfelt lyrics and infectious melodies. Drawing inspiration from his own life experiences, Max's music is both relatable and deeply personal, delivering a sound that is truly his own. With a passion for storytelling and a love for creating music that resonates with listeners, Max always aims to spark thought and emotion.


GOLDHEIST:

Known offstage as Hester Fraser, is and Australian artist whose music is a rich blend of storytelling and classical influences, deeply rooted in the Australian landscape. Her sound, which has been likened to luminaries such as Kate Bush, melds lyrical storytelling with an evocative musical style, drawing listeners into vivid narratives of Australian life from the bush and beyond.

Her career highlights include an album launch at the Sydney Opera House, winning the People's Choice Award at the Tamworth Country Music Festival, performances at the Fleurieu Folk Festival (SA), Sandford Bush Festival (VIC), and a concert in Naracoorte Cave (SA) whilst on tour with acclaimed multi-instrumentalist Andrew Clermont. She has earned accolades in songwriting competitions, affirming her skill as a lyricist, performer and composer. Her albums REALM and EYES OF LOVE showcase her musical journey, devolving from electronic to acoustic sounds, and addressing themes of love, loss, and the beauty of imperfection.

JACK THE BREAD GUY:

Jack is an aspiring young musician from the Taree area, Most people would recognise Jack from Bakers Choice in Manning Mall "The Bread Guy". Jack is a huge fan of the blues, singer-songwriters and fingerpicking style guitar. HIs inspirations are John Mayer, Eric Clapton and Jimi Hendrix.
