Hat Competition – How to participate
There are four categories under which you can enter your hat:
1. Most Stylish: This is the most open category where the only restriction is that it must be able to attach to a head.
2. Made it myself: This is a slightly more complicated category. You, yourself must have made the hat and it must be able to attach to a head.
3. International Women’s Day: And the most difficult category. Your hat must reflect International Women’s Day in some way and it must be able to attach to a head. Accompanying explanatory notes are accepted.
4. Sustainability: An additional category this year. Your hat must be made of recycled materials and must be able to attach to a head or can be the one you used last year. Prize winning hats from last year are ineligible to enter this category.
Conditions of entry
1. All entrants must be attendees of the Women’s Council’s International Women’s Day Sparkling High Tea. Entries are accepted on the day.
2. All entrants must be prepared to wear the hat for a photograph and give up all rights to the photo.
3. Prizes will be award by whomever we can con into it and no correspondence will be entered into with the judge but they could be open to bribery.

The Women's Council is a state­wide network with 60 member services made up of Women’s Refuges and Shelters; Domestic Violence Outreach, Safe at Home Programs, Children’s Counselling and a range of initiatives that support victims of domestic and family violence in Western Australia. The Women’s Council are representatives on a number of advisory panels and committees which include; WESNET (Women’s Service Network, national peak), Ombudsman’s Domestic and Family Violence Death Review Advisory Panel; WA Family Violence Governance Council and co­facilitates the Domestic Violence Advisory Network with the Department of Child Protection’s Family and Domestic Violence Unit.
