Event description

Description

Celebrate the International Day of Women and Girls in Science and International Women’s Day with the Monash BDI as we showcase the work of our outstanding female biomedical researchers and host lively discussions about women in science.

The event highlights the importance of female participation in the science research workforce, discussing important questions such as what is needed to achieve equal participation, retention and success of women in biomedical research? What other career opportunities exist outside of the laboratory?

The Institute will open its doors to 150 attendees on the day, encouraging female secondary school students and the general public to join in.

Guests will meet inspirational female leaders of research groups and gain up-close experience and insights into the work done in their laboratories.

A forum with a panel of female biomedical scientists and women-in-science advocates, and a Q&A session afterwards, invites the audience to participate, be involved, informed and inspired!
