Astrid is Chairperson of Hearts and Hands Community Development and Lake Macquarie's 2025 Local Woman of the Year.
Join Astrid as she delves into her lifelong dedication to child protection and advocacy, including her experience as a foster carer for over 24 years. Astrid will share her contributions to significant structural changes in the foster care system and her work with Hearts and Hands Community Development, a charity which raises awareness of violence and child abuse. Astrid also partnered with an orphanage in the Philippines to rescue children from trafficking.
Attendance at this adult event is free, but donations to the “Hearts and Hands” charity are welcome.
