International Slow Art Day 2016 at The Hofstra University Museum
Date and time
Description
The Hofstra University Museum is proud to host International Slow Art Day 2016 on Saturday, April 9, 2016 from 12 noon - 2:00 p.m.
We invite you to slow down and take part in this international day that emphasizes the in-depth looking at a few select works of art. Museums throughout the world participate in this popular event, where the more you look, the more you see! Take a slow “look” at five works on view in our current exhibition In Print, and then gather with an HUM Educator for a lively discussion about the works.
** FREE ADMISSION **
Materials will be available to inspire further examination and engage in a lively discussion about these works.
Slow Art Day is a grassroots movement to support museums and art galleries around the world by empowering museum visitors to change their art-viewing experience! Unlike the standard 8 second view, we ask participants to spend 5 minutes or more looking at suggested pieces (indicated by the turtle logo) -- just slow down and look!
