About this event

Our mission is to communicate developments in sustainable sensing technologies and create networking opportunities for effective research and industrial collaboration.

Hosted by UNSW Sydney, the inaugural International Conference on Sustainable Sensing Systems (ICSSS) will showcase the latest research and innovation by experts and scientists from both academia and industry.

The theme for the ICSSS 2021 conference is “Technical developments in sustainable materials for portable and wearable biosensors towards disposable medical devices”.

It will highlight the recent discoveries in this emerging space including wearable devices, paper-based analytical devices, microfluidics, portable device engineering, smartphone-based detection, mobile health monitoring, sustainable materials for sensors, and their applications in medical diagnostics, food safety and environment monitoring.

The aims of this conference include:

to connect academic researchers around the world to discuss the strengths, challenges, and future directions of sustainable sensing systems

to facilitate communications between academia and industry to accelerate research translation of sustainable sensing systems

to place the protection of our environment at the forefront by developing sustainable materials for disposable sensors

to inspire early career researchers in related fields. In addition to the scientific discussions, trade displays from industry will provide insight on recent advancements in the commercialisation of disposable and portable sensing devices.

We invite graduate students, research fellows, scientists, research organisations, government and industry, to submit oral or poster presentations.

The ICSSS 2020 will highlight cutting edge achievements in sustainable sensing technologies, creating opportunities to connect and share ideas with like-minded people in the field.
