Event description
"Inspiring Teens" A Youth Leadership Program Making the world a better place - personal reflections of youth leadership in action!

About this Event

Do you have, or know, a teenager aged 13 - 16 years?

Being a teen can be hard – can you remember what it was like? And raising or supporting young people can be even more challenging, an emotional rollercoaster at times, and as a parent or friend you can’t help but be concerned about their future. Perhaps you’ve been kept up at night worrying whether or not they will get a good job, or be concerned about their disengagement, addiction to devices or their mental health?

What you really want for the young people you know, is for them to be healthy and happy. To be confident and resilient to life’s’ challenges. To have courage and respect for themselves and for others, and to make the right choices in life. You want them to feel proud of themselves, following their passions, enjoying and succeeding in life as contributing citizens.

**Did you know that it is more likely that a 15-year-old today will more likely have 17 different jobs over 5 careers in their lifetime?**

According to the Foundation for Young Australians (FYA) ‘New Work Smarts’ report, young people need to acquire the right skills that will allow them to succeed in an automated and globalised workplace. They need to be critical thinkers and problem solvers, but even more importantly have strong communication skills to interact with people.

Young people can acquire these right ‘skills’ by engaging in immersive, project-based and real-world learning experiences that go beyond the classroom environment, and involve them working with local businesses, facilitating projects in the community.

Hi, I'm Genevieve Hodge, Founder and Lead Facilitator of Spire. My greatest passion is igniting and developing young people to make a positive difference in the world. I invite you and your teen to come along to this information session to hear about the "Inspiring Teens" youth leadership program. You will hear personal reflections from other young people who have participated in youth leadership development programs and will share their reasons why developing leadership skills from a young age is beneficial. Not only for their own personal growth and development, but to learn about how to work with others, and how to make an impact in the community. Many used their experiences to gain employment and opportunities such as scholarships, internships and work experience at some of the Australia's leading businesses.

Spire Leadership runs programs based on the CLEAR Leadership Framework whereby participants develop leadership capabilities through working on projects with local Non-Profit Organisations. Students grow and flourish as they are empowered to contribute to solving real community problems in a supported team-based environment and our social change agents are born!

More about the "Inspiring Teens" youth leadership program can be found here: https://www.spirecoaching.com.au/inspiring-teens-leadership-program

Come along to this free 1-hour session tomorrow afternoon, and learn how to involve your teen in an immersive, project-based and real-world learning experience providing them the skills needed to future-proof them for this fast-changing world.

We hope to see you there!

PS - Please share this free information session with anyone you know from the following: High schools, Universities, Councils, Libraries, Youth organisations/youth agencies, and other parents of teenagers.

Lets make this world a better place - together!

Warm regards
