Innovating for Impact: Growing your Ideas for Improving Health
UNSW Founders brings health innovation expertise to the Murrumbidgee Health and Knowledge Precinct
👩🏽⚕️ EVENT OVERVIEW
Seeing unmet health or medical challenges in your work or community and wondering “there must be a better way”? Or have an idea on how to solve an unmet need, but aren’t sure of the next step?
UNSW Founders is bringing its health entrepreneurship expertise to the Murrumbidgee region for a free, in-person workshop in Wagga Wagga, delivered in partnership with the Murrumbidgee Health and Knowledge Precinct.
This session explores how health challenges, often first identified by people working across the health system and community, can be transformed into practical, scalable solutions. You’ll gain insight into Australia’s health innovation landscape, learn from real-world examples, explore early pathways to funding, programs and support, and learn tactical steps towards bringing your health innovation to life.
You don’t need a startup idea - just curiosity, lived or professional experience in health and an interest in creating impact. You might be a community member with an idea based on your lived experience, or someone who works in the hospital, or even a health practitioners - no business or startup experience is required.
🎯 WHY THIS MATTERS FOR THE MURRUMBIDGEE REGION
Many of the most pressing health challenges in the Murrumbidgee region are well known to those who live and work here - including workforce pressures, access to specialist care, chronic disease management, rural and remote service delivery, ageing populations and health equity across vast distances.
This workshop recognises that regional communities hold some of the strongest insights into what needs improving and how this can be done. This workshop gives the Murrumbidgee region access to:
- World-class health innovation expertise, delivered locally
- Pathways for regional insights to inform globally relevant solutions
- Connections to UNSW Founders and the broader health innovation ecosystem
- Insight into how ideas emerging from health settings attract support, funding and scale
👥 WHO SHOULD ATTEND
- Healthcare professionals, clinicians and allied health
- Researchers, academics and students
- Community members who see unmet health needs
- Anyone curious about health innovation and entrepreneurship
💡WHAT YOU WILL WALK AWAY WITH
- A clearer understanding of how health ideas move from problem to solution
