ACA NSW is pleased to host its fifth Inner Circle event and this time to discuss the unions’ application to the Fair Work Commission to increase early childhood educators’ and teachers’ wages by 25%, and what options early childhood education and care services may have to address this.

Our special guest speakers are ACA National President Paul Mondo and ACA’s industrial lawyer, Nigel Ward, CEO of the Australian Business Lawyers and Advisors.

ACA NSW anticipates the following will be presented and discussed:

  1. the unions’ application to increase early childhood educators and teachers’ wages by 25%;
  2. the Commonwealth’s Multi-Employer Bargaining legislation and Supported Bargaining Process;
  3. the possible Fair Work Commission’s and the Federal Government’s decisions and timing; and
  4. the legal and commercial options and challenges faced by Approved Providers.

It is also worth noting that a Senate Standing Committee on Education & Employment report (paragraph 1.5 on page 91) cited possible costs of between $14,638 and $94,311 for individual Approved Providers to implement these multi-employer bargaining arrangements.

This ACA NSW Inner Circle event dinner and discussion on Monday, 13 May 2024 will:

  • begin at 5.30 pm for drinks
  • start at 6.30 pm for buffet dinner
  • hear from the ACA National President (Paul Mondo) and ACA’s industrial lawyer (Nigel Ward) from 7.35 pm onwards
  • enable ACA NSW members and non-members to pose questions and discuss from 8.00 pm to 9.30 pm
