The Victorian Government is progressing information sharing and family violence reforms to improve the wellbeing and safety of Victorian children and reduce family violence.

When Phase 2 commences, it is expected that schools and early childhood services will be able to request and share information with other authorised professionals and access guidance to better respond to the wellbeing or safety needs of children and their families.

The two hour Information Sharing and Family Violence Reforms: Interactive Leaders Briefing is designed for workplace and organisational leaders from the education and early childhood workforces that will be prescribed under the Child Information Sharing Scheme, the Family Violence Information Sharing Scheme and the family violence Multi-Agency Risk Assessment and Management (MARAM) Framework.

The session is designed to empower workplace leaders to operationalise and be champions of the reforms in their respective workplace.

At the end of the session, Leaders will understand:

  • the intent and purpose of the reforms
  • how the reforms support and enhance existing child and family wellbeing or safety responsibilities and practices
  • minimum steps and your role in overseeing how the reforms are adopted in your organisation or education setting
  • next steps and the supports available to you and your workforce when you return to the workplace.

During the session you will collaborate on practical ideas and next steps in applying the reforms in your centre or school.

Future sessions will be available for the members of your staff who will undertake sharing activities, to build their confidence to share information effectively and safely to promote children’s wellbeing or safety, including in response to family violence risk.
