We are delighted to invite you to a special event to celebrate national Indigenous Literacy Day 2017!
The program will feature performances from ILF ambassadors Andy Griffiths and Jared Thomas along with students from Tiwi College Alalinguwi Jarrakarlinga on the Tiwi Islands (NT) performing the story from a new book, Shallow in the Deep End.
The event will conclude with a Great Book Swap and all guests may bring along a favourite book and gold coin to participate.

The Indigenous Literacy Foundation is a national book industry charity, which aims to reduce the disadvantage experienced by children in remote Indigenous communities across Australia, by lifting literacy levels and instilling a lifelong love of reading. They do this through supplying new, culturally relevant books and literacy resources, with an focus on early literacy, and publishing community stories, many in first languages.
