A Concert of Wordless Reflections on Madness

This concert will present three compositions by sound artist <a href="https://www.thembisoddell.com/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Thembi Soddell </a>in near darkness: A Shut in Place (a collaboration with cellist Anthea Caddy), Glue &amp; Return, and Love Songs. Each work reflects upon aspects of the lived experience of depression, anxiety, trauma, and what might be labelled mental illness, through the intensity of abstract sound.Soddell's work Love Songs has been praised for its “innovative approach to form” (Fluid Radio 2018), “fearless conceptual framework” (Self-Titled Magazine 2018), and its launch at The SUBSTATION won the 2019 Green Room Award for Contemporary Sound Performance.EVENT INFORMATIONThere will be a short interval between Glue &amp; Return and Love Songs.ACCESSIBILITYThe venue is fully wheelchair accessible and we request you do not wear fragrances (perfumes, colognes, essential oils). It is recommended no children under 14 years of age attend.COVID-SAFETYAll attendees will be required to wear an N95/P2 mask for the duration of the show.
