Event description

Description

Are you excited about graduating but unsure about the next step?

Want to know how other STEM graduates have forged their career paths?

Or just keen to chat to others who are passionate about STEM outreach and education?

Well we have the event for you!

Today’s young people (ie. you) will likely have 17 different employers over 5 different careers. To give you some insight into the current STEM career climate in Australia, and what it could look like in the future, In2science is facilitating a speed career networking session especially for In2science mentors and other university students interested in developing career skills. You mentor school students every week - this is a chance for YOU to gain insights for your own future career from people just a few steps ahead of you.

You’ll be able to chat to our guests in pairs or small groups, giving you the best chance to engage meaningfully with people who are keen to share their expertise.

You’ll have the chance to ask recent graduates about how they navigated job applications and entering the workforce, reflect on which career pathways really excite you, and hear about some of the incredible things In2science mentors like you do after University!

Our special guests include graduates and experienced professionals from wide range of industries and companies, including:

  • Rachel Johnston - Technical Director, BP

  • Sally Lowenstein - Science Communicator, Bureau of Meterology

  • Kathryn Sobey - Head of Science, Auburn High School

  • Sarah Longhurst - Consultant, Deloitte
