Women, their careers and the difference between succeeding in government and the private sector
About this event
Join us for a virtual ‘fireside chat’ between Verizon Business Group’s Regional Director, Rob Le Busque, and journalist and author, Annabel Crabb, where they will discuss Annabel's recent ABC TV series, Ms Represented, the landmark production released one hundred years after Australia elected its first female parliamentarian.
This discussion is followed by a panel of exceptional women in conversation about specific career challenges and opportunities for women right now, and the differences that exist between public sector and private sector work environments.
Annabel will be joined by
- Lucy Turnbull AO, businesswoman, philanthropist, urbanist and former Lord Mayor of Sydney
- Wendy McCarthy AO, businesswoman, writer, social activist and former University Chancellor
- Amy Brown, CEO, Investment NSW
- The discussion will be moderated by InnovationAus.com editor, Ben Grubb
In this moderated discussion, we explore what can be learned about the sometimes unseen structures that can help or hinder inclusivity, and the role that organisational culture plays in this dynamic.
We ask our panellists what the differences are for women between public sector and private sector careers – and seek advice about where the bright spots are in leadership across the political, public service and corporate realms.
Please join us for this open and energetic discussion about one of the key issues of our time.
