One-Day Seminar (Brisbane, Queensland)

One-Day Seminar (Brisbane, Queensland)

One-Day Seminar What to Expect

Learn to implement PLD’s evidence-based Structured Synthetic Phonics (SSP) programs in Foundation, Year 1 and Year 2 gaining the knowledge, tools and processes to implement explicit, systematic instruction that builds strong early literacy foundations across the junior primary.

This single-day intensive seminar is delivered during school holiday breaks only, improving access for our regional participants, as well as easing staffing pressures during term time.

The one-day seminar delivers core SSP training using PLD for educators working in Foundation, Year 1 and Year 2. The day focuses on the essential literacy skills that move children into and through PLD’s Stage 1 and Stage 2 programs, developing early decoding skills so that spelling and writing can develop with confidence. Participants learn how to use the PLD Screening and Tracking Sheets to form three targeted teaching groups and create a practical, term-ready plan to deliver daily SSP lessons for students working in the most critical window of early literacy development.

Tracking Sheet Data

Recommended: This seminar includes a short workshop segment for planning with your own data. If you (or your school) is currently implementing PLD, please bring recent class data (screening/placement results and access to PLD Tracking Sheets) so we can maximise the coaching time available in the session and ensure you leave with a classroom-ready plan for the upcoming term.

Also Available

Two-Day Seminar Option (Guided Implementation): Workshop time is limited in the one-day intensive. For added support and coaching, the two-day seminar runs as two full-day sessions a week apart in-term, creating an implementation window to apply PLD in your classroom and return for guided feedback and next steps.
