Free family art, craft and storytime day at Carlson Park! Contribute to our little library, enjoy a hot drink, and a picnic together outside

Immersive painting and storytime is a free, family-friendly community event that invites local children to help create and celebrate a new Little Community Library at Carlson Park.

Children will take part in a guided painting activity alongside an Indigenous artist, leaving their handprint and name on the library as a lasting contribution to the park. Following the creative session, families will enjoy a relaxed outdoor storytime and craft session led by Council librarians, with picnic mats and cushions provided.

To make the day even more enjoyable, complimentary hot drinks provided by Liquid Infusion will be available. Families are encouraged to bring along their own picnic food and a blanket to enjoy time together in the park following the activities.

Check-in:

• Please arrive at least 15 minutes before the event begins to register.

• Each participant is required to complete a waiver form. Anyone under 18 will need a parent to complete a waiver form and must be supervised by their parent or guardian at all times.

• This event may be filmed or photographed, and images may be used on Council websites, publications and social media channels. If you do not wish for your image to be published, please inform Council staff.

What to bring:

We will provide necessary equipment but feel free to bring your own hat, lunch and water bottle, in addition to applying sunscreen.

Children under 18 will need to be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.
