The BABOK® V3 Study Group will be a professional development opportunity for business analysts looking to gain knowledge of the BABOK® and those seeking certification at ECBA, CCBA or CBAP level. For details on our certification levels please visit IIBA Certification Levels. The purpose of the IIBA® Australia Study Groups is to:

Provide a structured and shared experience to learn the content of the Business Analysis Body of Knowledge Version 3 (BABOK®):

  • Knowledge Areas
  • Techniques, and
  • Underlying Competencies

To identify practices that may enhance your own business analysis performance

To share experiences and challenges, and achieve a greater understanding of how to achieve business analysis success

Learning Objectives

At the conclusion of this study group:

  • Participants will achieve a demonstrated understanding of the BABOK® content and know how to use the BABOK® for reference.
  • Participants will gain an awareness of the IIBA® certification application process and examination.

The IIBA® Australia Study Group has been recognised by IIBA® Global and as such members can earn up to 30 IIBA® Professional Development (PD) Hours.

This study group will be facilitated by Joseph Ling and Kiranpreet Kau.

Co-Facilitator: Joseph Ling

Joseph Ling, a distinguished Project Professional, boasts extensive expertise in Systems Transitions and Finance Team Project Support within the Financial Services sector. With a stellar career at ANZ Wealth and ING Australia, Joseph has led numerous successful projects, driving major transformations and strategic initiatives. His leadership in stakeholder management and business analysis has been pivotal in shaping organizational success. Holding prestigious qualifications including a Graduate Diploma of Legal Practice, Joseph's multidisciplinary background underscores his commitment to excellence.

Co-Facilitator: Kiran Kaur

Kiran is a business analyst with over 17 years of experience working in different phases of SDLC. She has hands-on experience working with both agile and waterfall methodologies. Starting her career as a front-end developer, she is able to see problem statements from both Business and IT lens and is able to tailor her communication style according to the audience. Working in the UK, India and Australia has given her a keen insight into adapting working with different cultures using the learnings from BABOK. She is an advocate for IIBA and is always looking for avenues to share her knowledge and learn from other Business analysts.
