This lecture will revisit how the core rubric statements structure our understanding of the human experience and how these texts shape our understanding of these representations. Students will revisit Paper 1 and explore practical strategies that will assist in answering the Section 1 questions to the Unseen texts. The lecture will also briefly revise a range of the most popular prescribed texts for the Section 2 essay for both Standard and Advanced.

· Shakespeare, William, The Merchant of Venice

· Orwell, George, Nineteen Eighty-Four

· Parrett, Favel, Past the Shallows

· Miller, Arthur, The Crucible

· Daldry, Stephen, Billy Elliot
