HQ Tech Tank: Energy
Event Information
About this event
Energy Event
In this upcoming event of the HQ Tech Tank series, we will explore the future of Energy. For more than two decades, the world has been actively transitioning into sustainable energy systems. The main players have been so far solar and wind energy, in addition to some other technologies such as geothermal.
The main challenge of moving away from fossil fuels has been energy storage. Batteries have taken a central role thanks to Electric Vehicles, while hydrogen remains the most compact energy carrier in the market. Other technologies are also trying to break into this massive market, such as high-pressure or cryogenic gas-based storage systems.
How will all this play in the coming few decades? How will our future homes, offices, and factories, optimise their energy consumption, and how “smart” our grids need to be? Will EV continue to be based on battery systems, or will hydrogen take over? What will become of the existing oil and gas industry, and what about the controversial nuclear power plants. How will new energy solutions bring us closer to the renewed space frontier?

About the HQ Tech Tank Series
AI, Big Data, Self-Driving, Mixed Reality and IoT are hot buzzwords that you need to know. But what do these disruptive technologies really mean for us and the future that we’re creating?
To uncover the real-world implications of these technologies, Hatch Quarter experts have developed a Tech-Matching Matrix to explain how emerging technologies apply to specific industries and elements of everyday life in a simple and comprehensive manner.
Each event will explore a specific industry, featuring a panel of those at the forefront of emerging technologies, including industry experts, academics, corporates, and government to reveal future trends, and exchange ideas.
