About this event

Critical thinking is the objective analysis and evaluation of an issue in order to form a judgement. This workshop will focus on not only what goes wrong when forming judgements, according to cognitive and complexity scientists, but also potential ways to improve the quality of judgements.

Susan will evaluate the merits of critical thinking approaches (e.g., scoping perspectives, question generation, forecasting tournaments, and post-mortems) and discuss how a dedicated team at the Federal Reserve Bank of New York is working on adapting these approaches to the work of central banking.
