Perhaps you are unsure of what to say, you might feel uncomfortable asking questions, or maybe you are concerned about how to approach it and who to approach. The difference between a welcome to Country and an acknowledgment of Country, the language and terminology to use, who to address and ask for advice.
Rather than a general statement, a more meaningful, customised, localised approach that gives a connection to Country and your environment, creating a good future for everyone walking together and breaking down barriers.
This interactive webinar is with facilitated by Mark Koolmatrie from Tribal Expertise Facility and will cover:
- knowing what to say including terminology and language
- the differences between welcome to country and an acknowledgment of country
- truth telling about the journey of people from colonisation to where we are today
- how to structure an acknowledgement of country, how to develop and deliver it and who with
- questions and answers where you can ask the things that you really want to know
