How It Feels | A Creative Art Series (Seniors Session)
A creative program part of the City of Ryde Artist-in-Residence Initiative
As part of City of Ryde’s Artist-in-Residence program, we are delighted to offer a new creative series and opportunity to meet our artist 2026 artist - Tom Isaacs
How It Feels is a hands-on creative workshop series that invites the community to explore emotion through making. Guided by artist Tom Isaacs, resident artist for the City of Ryde, participants will create an original textile artwork that expresses a feeling that is meaningful to them, drawing on personal experiences and memories.
The workshops focus on skill sharing, creative exploration, and connection. Participants are encouraged to exchange knowledge, experiment with materials at their own pace, and explore the relationship between lived experience and artistic expression. Sessions also provide a relaxed, welcoming space to meet other community members, engage in conversation and reflection, and build connections.
All materials and tools will be provided, and no prior sewing or textile experience is required. Participants are also welcome to bring their own fabric, thread, or sewing materials—either to use in their work or to donate to the workshops.
Workshop participants are invited to contribute their finished piece to a larger collective artwork, bringing together many individual expressions into a shared community work.
Date: Wednesday 18 March
Time: 1.00pm - 3.00pm
Location: INTO-ARTS Studio + Gallery - 71 Ryedale Rd, West Ryde.
Parking: Timed parking available in local surrounding streets.
