Event description

Description

In its annual Honouring Australian Writers series, the NSW Writers’ Centre pays tribute to writers who have made an important contribution to our literary culture. This year we honour Jessica Anderson (1916 – 2010), the author of two Miles Franklin Award-winning novels, Tirra Lirra by the River and The Impersonators, which also won the Christina Stead Prize for Fiction. Her body of work includes seven published novels, an award-winning short story collection, and numerous radio plays. Jessica Anderson’s daughter, the screenwriter Laura Jones, will be joined by authors Anna Funder and Michelle de Kretser, and literary critic Geordie Williamson to talk about the enduring power of Anderson’s work.
