Manningham Function CentreDoncaster, VIC
Wednesday, Jun 17 from 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm AEST
Overview

Home Harvest Manningham is a monthly home gardening seminar series that will teach you how to grow your own delicious, fresh food at home.

Come along and learn about the Novel Crops Project by Dr. Chris Williams, a lecturer in urban horticulture at the University of Melbourne's Burnley Campus. The Project focuses on introducing lesser known edible species into cultivation, and explores how they can be utilised within the changing climate and urban landscapes of Melbourne. Chris is also passionate about working with migrant communities to increase access to culturally significant crops.

The session will discuss lesser known varieties of Sweet Potatoes, Taro, Yams, Abyssinian bananas, edible Hibiscus and much more - and how these can be grown in your very own backyard.

The seminar begins at 6:30pm, or join us from 6:15pm for our monthly produce swap, where you can bring and trade homegrown produce, cuttings, seeds, gardening magazines, jars, ferments and more!
