2021 HOLY ROSARY DADS & KIDS CAMPOUT
CODE OF CONDUCT
Purpose of Dads & Kids Campout:
The intent of the Campout is to provide an opportunity to spend time with your kids in a fun environment. As dads do not always get the opportunity to attend school or excursions with their kids, this is that opportunity.
It is intended to allow Dads to spend time with their children, be able to meet other dads within the school community and have some fun. We are starting again this year at 2pm so that there is a bit more time for kids and dads to mingle and socialise, then after setting up some games will take place on the oval.
Introduction to Code of Conduct:
2011 was the first year that we introduced a Code of Conduct. We want to encourage Dads to socialise with each other, and to have a few drinks and enjoy themselves. We are promoting that any drinking is done in moderation.
We also want the kids to have fun with their friends and having the time out of school time. However, Dads need to be aware of where their kids are located at all times.
We have had a number of complaints in previous years on:
a) The noise of rowdy Dads after midnight who were enjoying themselves a bit too much.
b) Some kids not being supervised sufficiently, with kids having to attend doctors with minor injuries.
c) Kids going into tents and eskies that were not their own or their Dads.
To avoid these issues, we have introduced the Code of Conduct and request all dads that are attending the campout to abide by the Code of Conduct.
Behaviour of Kids
The behaviour of kids is the responsibility of the Dads. We expect that the kids will behave in a Christian way and respect others. This includes kids respecting requests from volunteers and other Dads to assist or behave appropriately. In essence, the behaviour of the children should be the same as is expected on any day at school.
Behaviour of Dads
You agree that you will behave in a respectable manner, and respect others. This includes any request from volunteers to assist in any way.
You agree that offensive behaviour and language is unacceptable, and does not set the correct example for your or other children.
Supervision of your Kids
You agree that you will be responsible for the supervision of your kids during the night. If your children are caught misbehaving or not abiding by the rules of the Campout, then you agree that you will be responsible for taking the necessary action to discipline your child.
Lights Out
You agree that at lights out at 10pm you will be responsible for putting your kids to sleep in your tent, and ensuring that your kids remain in your tent. Kids that are caught out of their tents after 10pm will be requested to return to their tents to bed immediately, and further failure will result in being asked to leave the campout.
Finishing Drinks & Sleep
You agree that you will have finished socialising by 11pm, and then be in your own tent. You acknowledge that in the event that you do not comply, you will be asked to finish your drinks & return to your tent immediately. In the event that you do not comply this request, you will be given one warning only, and then be asked to leave the campout with your kids.
Respect for the Property of Others
We are expecting over 100 families to attend again this year, with more than 350 people (including Dads and Kids). You agree that you and your kids will respect the property of others, and not touch or interfere with property that does not belong to you.
Respect for Volunteers
The event is run wholly by the Holy Rosary P&F and other members of the Holy Rosary School Community who give up their time as volunteers. If you are requested by any of the volunteers to assist or to desist from certain behaviour, you agree that you will honour the request.
Helping at Campout
The event is operated on a volunteer basis. We have requested that we obtain assistance from Dads where possible. We have five different groups helping with the event, being:
- Setup
- Dinner
- Movie/Lights Out
- Breakfast
- Cleanup
* Those able to help with Setup please arrive promptly at 2pm.
Cleaning & Packing Up
Upon your arrival you will be issued with a garbage bag to place all of your rubbish in. You agree to take your own rubbish with you, and to be responsible for the cleaning up of your tent site upon leaving on Sunday morning.
Non-Compliance
You agree that if you do not comply with this Code of Conduct, you may be asked to leave the grounds immediately and return the following day to collect your tent.
Conclusion
Thank you for taking the time to read our Code of Conduct. We are all looking forward to seeing you all there and to a great afternoon and night for all Kids and Dads!
