Following the successful efforts of the Downer and Watson communities, Holt is about to get it&#x27;s own micro-forest. The micro-forest concept is based on the Miyawaki method that plants native plants densely and results in fast growth. Led by local resident, Jennifer Bardsley the team has successfully raised approximately $40,000 to implement the project.The plan includes around 500m2 of planted area (including micro-forest plantings and a pollinator patch), open spaces for gathering, places to sit, wide paths and water harvesting, including a dry creek bed.
