Holiday Program: Reasons for Seasons - Summer (AM session)
Visit the Launceston Planetarium at the Museum at Inveresk to learn all about seasons and our sun, then create art using sunlight.
Discover why we experience the seasons and learn all about our sun.
We’ll begin with a visit to the Planetarium, where you’ll be transported through space to explore our sun – the star at the centre of our solar system- and learn all about the driving force behind Earth’s changing seasons.
Then, we’ll head out into the courtyard* for a hands-on creative activity, experimenting with a process that uses sunlight to capture prints.
Please note: This workshop is recommended for children aged 8-12 years, accompanied by their parents.
* Weather permitting – if the weather is unsuitable, we'll have a fun topic-related indoor activity instead!
PLEASE NOTE:
- Bookings are required for all attendees. Children must be accompanied by a fee-paying adult.
- This activity will be held at the Museum at Inveresk, 2 Invermay Road, Inveresk, Launceston.
- All tickets are $6pp.
- Recommended age 8-12 years old.
- Please feel free to bring a water bottle to the session.
- This is a supervised activity and not a drop-off activity. Parents/guardians are expected to remain present for the duration of the event — and are encouraged to help and join in the fun!
