Holiday Art Class - Mother and Baby Owl Painting + Ocean Inspired Pottery

Come join us at Paintbox Art School for a fun and creative event! In this class, you'll get to paint a beautiful Mother and Baby Owl masterpiece and create your own Ocean Inspired Pottery. It's a perfect activity for children to create 2D and 3D art while unleashing their creativity. Don't miss out on this unique opportunity to create lasting memories!

Time: 10am - 1pm

Request: please text Cheryl 0409 110023 with your child's name and age, prior to the class

Date: Tues 25th June

Ages: from primary age to 14 years

Activity 1: Mother and Baby Owl Painting

All children love to paint mother and babies, especially when they look so cute sitting on a branch in front of a mystical full moon. This acrylic painting is a fabulous activity learning how to blend paint from light to dark. We explore composition, layering, adding branch details and gorgeous bunches of pretty flowers. This session will be a sure hit for kids to express themselves, and learn new art skills.

**Canvas is available for $10

Activity 2: Ocean Inspired Pottery

Children love getting their hands dirty with clay. Ocean creatures are our inspiration especially ones that are seen by the children. Participants will be guided to create a simple animal shape, then legs, neck and head. There is a choice to make mother/child as well. We explore the correct joining techniques so each item will stick together and not fall off. Textures and details will be added at the end.

Teacher: Hi my name is Cheryl and I am a Buderim artist. I spent my younger years living here and attending local schools. This a beautiful part of the world with a creative and supportive community. I love it!

My favourite art is painting large scale canvases.

I have a teaching degree, QCT and Blue Card current registrations. My experiences range from teaching visual arts in local private and overseas schools. At the Paintbox studio, I bring a nurturing style, encouraging each individual to be creative, use their skills and self expression.
