History Matters: Professional Development for Teachers via ZOOM

About this Event
This series of masterclasses will explore, discuss and analyse the history of what is now known as South Australia. Uncle Mickey O'Brien, Senior Kaurna man will work alongside historians and educators from the History Trust of South Australia team to share knowledge, expertise and ideas.
Please register for each week that you would like to attend.
Australian curriculum links will be included and school excursions will be discussed - digital and regular- at the end of each session.
These sessions will be open forums and participants encouraged to ask questions and explore history.
Preservice teachers, lifelong learners and other interested historians also welcome.
Sessions may be recorded (depending on the presenters(s) permissions) and will be made available to registered participants upon request.

Week 4: August 12
The first arrivals from England with Lindl Lawton and Uncle Mickey O'Brien

Join Uncle Mickey O'Brien and Madelena Bendo for a thoughtful discussion on interpretations of colonial art. Using Visual Thinking Strategies, Mickey and Madelena will analyse selected colonial art works . Learn how to use this strategy to inform your interpretation.
Virtual 'pop in' will be going underground at Ayers House with Helen and Kate.
