Event description

Description

The built environment determines how we use and access the city. Designing for the footpath develops an active, socially connected, pedestrian friendly environment that supports the positive well-being of our community and the sustainability of our cities.

Join this discussion on the designing for active engagement with the footpath, initiatives that encourage participation and socialising in public spaces and the benefits of densifying public transportation hubs.

Featuring a panel of speakers including:

  • Billie Giles-Corti, Director of Urban Futures Enabling Capacity Platform at RMIT University
  • Lucinda Hartley, CoFounder and CEO of CoDesign Studio
  • Marion Terrill, Transport Program Director at the Grattan Institute

Presented by Open Journal in partnership with Open House Melbourne and led by Open Journal Editor, Laura Phillips, the High Density Happiness Speaker Series advocates for good apartment design and sustainable urban futures. This event is supported by the Melbourne School of Design at the University of Melbourne.
