    About this event

Bicycle Queensland is excited to bring women of all ages and riding abilities Her Ride MTB skills day.

Whether you're just starting out and want to learn skills to get you riding; or are a rider who would like to meet more women to share the ride with, this event is for you, with courses suitable for both beginner and intermediate skill levels.

We are running three Her Ride MTB days, you choose from one of the below dates:

    • 24 September 2022, 8am -12pm
    • 08 October 2022, 8am - 12pm
    • 22 October 2022, 8am - 12pm

    Beginner Course

The beginner skills course is aimed at people who have just started mountain biking or want to refine their fundamental skills to take their riding to the next level. The course covers the fundamental skills required to ride off-road on a fire trail or singletrack.

    Skills covered include:

    • Bike safety check and helmet fitting
    • Correct riding position (attack position)
    • Correct gear selection
    • Slow riding and balance
    • Riding obstacles
    • Ratcheting
    • Braking techniques
    • Cornering
    • Riding skinnies
    • Riding corners/turning

    Please note:

    • All riders will need to provide their own helmet and mountain bike
    • Ensure your brakes and gearing are in good working order
    • This is not a learn-to-ride course, riders need to be able to ride, brake and control their bike unassisted.

Check out Bicycle Queensland's Bike Basics including the ABC bike check to ensure you're prepared for the day.

    Intermediate Course

The intermediate ride, led by the great team from Ride Technics, is aimed at riders who have a minimum of 12 months of experience riding singletrack and are in good physical health. Riders will enjoy a 90min ride in the trail network with strategic stops to review key skills and receive feedback from the team of expert coaches.

You can also purchase one of our new HER RIDE kits here.

A big thank you to Specialized who will have a demo e-Mountain Bike fleet available to try on the day!

The morning will be finished off with a free coffee for all participants at Cadence Café.
