This is a free event designed for members of the public clinical mental health workforce in Victoria, (staff employed at Area Mental Health Services, Forensicare or mental health staff from RCH). For example, a social worker working in mental health at Austin Health. Staff from MHCSSs, ACCHOs, AOD or other partner organisations may also attend. Please note, if you do register for this event and it is not clear you are part of the intended audience, your registration will be confirmed two weeks prior to the event start date, or earlier.
This training is ideal for unit staff, community teams, case managers, or anyone wanting to learn more about viral hepatitis. The training and the educational materials available can help broaden your understanding of viral hepatitis and its effects, treatment and what we can do to help people affected by viral hepatitis and those around them.
There are several populations in the community in which viral hepatitis is more prevalent. These webinars are part a commitment to support people with viral hepatitis to live longer, healthier lives and working towards eliminating viral hepatitis as a public health concern.
This training is delivered via a blended learning model: access to online learning management system (pre-reading) and online interactive presentation (3 hours).
HEPReady Essentials Online is designed for health and community workers who want a basic overview of viral hepatitis and liver health. This training is a BLENDED learning model with additional educational resources and materials available online before and after the online live webinar
It covers new treatments, stigma and discrimination, a lived experience perspective, as well as how to conduct sensitive conversations with clients.
Course Details:
This training has two components:
- The first component consists of access to an online learning portal with prior to the live event. Attendees will be given access to additional learning materials and resources through Hepatitis Victoria’s online learning portal; equipped with exclusive educational resources that can further your learning, at your own pace.
- The second component consists of an online webinar. This three-hour session is co-facilitated by a LiverWELL (incorporating Hepatitis Victoria) facilitator and a lived experience speaker. It will cover various aspects of viral hepatitis and liver health, including interactive case studies and featuring a powerful account of a lived experience speaker. You will also gain valuable insight into privacy and disclosure requirements associated with viral hepatitis
