Hence Confetti, Loner, Stockade & Chillaum at The Maya Lounge

The Maya LoungeSydney, NSW
Sunday, May 24 from 5 pm to 9 pm
Overview

Grindhead Records presents a colossal night of crossover madness when Hence Confetti, Lonar, Stockade & Chillaum massacre the Maya Lounge.

A suffocating collision of math-metal precision, sludge-soaked punishment, progressive brutality, and bone-crushing groove, delivered at point-blank range.

Dark, brooding and violently syncopated, headliners Hence Confetti weaponise progressive metal into something claustrophobic and unpredictable. Their sound lurches between mechanical polyrhythms, crushing low-end weight and eerie atmospheric tension that feels permanently on the verge of collapse. Dragged through mud and barbed wire with devastating sudden tempo shifts, jagged riff architecture and oppressive vocals that move from haunted restraint to full-blown feral release.

Western Sydney's own Loner deal in towering sludge-core misery built from tar-thick riffs and nihilistic weight. Their sound crawls forward like a wounded machine, grinding out smothering grooves that feel less like songs and more like slow structural failure. Feedback hangs in the air like toxic smoke while vocals erupt in raw, throat shredding contempt. Equal parts doom-laden punishment and hardcore hostility, Loner is the definition of heavy.

Precision meets brute force with Stockade, whose non-melodic progressive groove metal hits like a hydraulic press. Drawing from the rhythmic violence of Meshuggah-style math, the tectonic stomp of Gojira and the militant punch of Lamb of God, their sound is all angles, impact and zero excess. Riffs lock into hypnotic mechanical patterns before detonating into crushing breakdowns that feel engineered for maximum bodily damage. Clinical, punishing and relentlessly tight, Stockade are pure controlled aggression.

Napalese metal band from Sydney, Chillaum, brings a rare strain of progressive heaviness that is both crushing and expansive. Their sound blends dense modern metal weight with intricate arrangements and sudden dynamic surges that keep the floor shifting beneath you. Thunderous grooves collide with soaring passages and technical flourishes, creating something both cinematic and brutally physical. Heavy as hell yet razor-sharp, Chillaum prove that progressive metal can still hit like a landslide.
