Help for Parents of Learner Drivers
Are you a parent or carer supervising a learner driver? Not sure how to structure driving lessons or reduce the stress that can come with teaching someone to drive?
MidCoast Council is hosting free workshops in Taree and Tuncurry to support parents, carers and teachers of learner drivers. The workshops have been designed by Transport for NSW to provide practical guidance on delivering driving lessons in a structured, effective and safe way.
Parents and carers are often the primary instructor for learner drivers. These workshops aim to build confidence, reduce stress and help instructors pass on safe driving habits that can last a lifetime. Learners are welcome to attend in company with a supervisor.
A qualified driving instructor will attend the sessions to share professional knowledge and real-world experience.
The two-hour workshops will cover:
· how to structure learner driver lessons
· tips for using and completing the learner driver log book
· important road safety information
· strategies to support safe driving behaviours
