Learn to save, grow and share seeds

About this Event

Heirloom seeds are our gardening heritage. Handed down over generations, these treasured varieties are an important part of our agricultural biodiversity and are adapted to our local conditions and cultures. In this workshop you'll learn the basics of seed saving for common vegetables, how to grow from seed successfully and possibilities for sharing seeds with your local community.

Presented as part of Hobsons Bay City Council's World Environment Day event series.

Please note that this is an event for Melbourne gardeners only. Gardening is very context specific and we will not be taking questions relating to other areas. If you live outside Melbourne, please contact your council to find out what free sustainable gardening events are available locally.

The online workshop will commence at 10am sharp but we'll be online from 9:30am to help anyone unfamiliar with the software and enjoy a chat about how our gardens are growing.
