The Showcase will be held on Thursday 16 and Friday 17 May 2024 at the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre.
The 2024 themes for innovations are all about improving:
- Patient Access
- Safety & Quality
- Financial Sustainability
- Environmental Sustainability
- Wildcard
Innovators from all hospital services and activities are encourage to contribute. Previous innovations submitted to Health Roundtable during 2021 - 23 are valid for inclusion.

Implementation Science | Workshop
Developing and implementing great ideas is one thing but making them stick can be another challenge.
New for 2024 is our Implementation Science workshop to be held at the same venue on the morning following the Showcase, Friday 17 May 2024.
The intent of this workshop is for attendees to work with experts in the field and learn skills in making their innovation stick.

Implementation Science | Facilitators
Professor Jed Duff is the Chair of Nursing at the Royal Brisbane and Women's Hospital.
In his role, he is responsible for developing, testing, and implementing strategies to improve the use of evidence in practice.
He also designs and leads multidisciplinary research projects and mentors staff in areas such as evidence-based practice, quality improvement, and research.
Jed refers to himself as a 'pracademic' - someone who combines the perspectives of practitioners and academics to solve real-world problems.
Dr. Nina Meloncelli is an Accredited Practising Dietitian, Research Fellow (University of Queensland) and Program Lead for Metro North Allied Health’s Knowledge Translation initiative (AH-TRIP).
As the AH-TRIP Program Lead for Metro North, Nina builds capability and capacity amongst clinicians to bridge the gap between research and clinical practice.
Nina has been actively involved in the development of Metro North’s Helix Hub since 2020 as Implementation Support Working Group Lead and subject matter expert.
Nina also leads the Statewide Education and Training working group for AH-TRIP and is regularly invited to present on topics relating to implementation science, value-based care, co-design and behaviour change.
Dr Ashley Cameron (no LinkedIn)
Dr Ashley Cameron holds a Bachelor of Psychology from the Queensland University of Technology and a Masters of Speech Pathology Studies from the University of Queensland.
She earned her PhD at the University of Queensland, investigating ways to enhance the participation of individuals with acquired community difficulties in healthcare settings.
She is the statewide Allied Health – Translating Research into Practice (AH-TRIP) Program Lead for the Office of the Chief Allied Health Officer (OCAHO) and the HELIX Project Lead for Healthcare Excellence and Innovation (HEI), Metro North Health.
Ashley actively contributes to knowledge translation and value-based care projects, as well as training and research within Queensland Health.
Her primary focus is building workforce capacity and empowering health practitioners with evidenced-based practices to enhance healthcare delivery and patient outcomes
