The Learning Advisers at ANU Academic Skills work with students to develop the key academic skills and communication strategies that are foundational to all academic activity. We work with students from first year undergraduate to final year Phd, by conducting workshops, one to one appointments and a variety of self help online resources.

How do you logically weave together the separate parts of your thesis? How can you ensure that each chapter or paper contributes to developing your overall argument, and addresses the research question? This workshop offers structural techniques to create a clear narrative and argument for the thesis as a whole. We introduce the thesis argument map as a useful tool to help you develop a logical sequence of your ideas, and work out the structure (individual chapters) of your thesis.Please note that this workshop is for current ANU students only. This workshop is part of the Science, Health and Medicine Career development Framework program and can be counted as a valid activity.
