HDR Students: December Writing Boot Camp (Day 2, Callaghan)

HDR Students: December Writing Boot Camp (Day 2, Callaghan)

Overview

Need to make progress on that thesis chapter or journal article? Want to block out distractions and get some serious writing done?

Need to make progress on that thesis chapter, journal article or lit review before the end of the year? Want to block out distractions, carve out some time and get some serious writing done?

Come along to this special December end of year edition all-day writing boot camp, hosted by Graduate Research.

What you'll get:

  • Four hours of dedicated, focused writing time without distractions
  • Tips on building writing motivation and getting past writer's block
  • An opportunity to socialise with other students in the breaks
  • Catered snacks and lunch to power you through the day.

The writing time will be based on the Pomodoro Technique: throughout the day, we'll be running eight 'pomodoros' – 25-minute bursts of focused writing time, with 5-minute breaks in between – during which you can hunker down, tune out the world and really focus on your work.

This evidence-backed writing day will help you generate real writing progress without distractions and go from blank page to working draft.

What should you bring?

  • Your laptop
  • Laptop charger

Don't let the year slip away without that chapter progress – power through a focused writing day with your HDR peers and head into the holidays with real momentum!

Want more than a day? Join us at NUspace the day before (Thursday 11th December) and keep that writing momentum going!
