Currently running either 6 weekly, 2 hour in person Pregnancy, Birth and Parenting Classes (Wednesday) or all day 8 hour Saturday classes.

Hawkesbury District Hospital – Pregnancy, Birth and Parenting Classes

Hawkesbury District Hospital offers in-person birthing and early parenting classes in a warm, welcoming environment to help you prepare for the exciting journey ahead.

Our classes are facilitated by experienced midwives who provide up-to-date, evidence-based information so you can feel confident and make informed choices during pregnancy, birth and the early months of parenting.

What the sessions cover:

• What to expect during the birth process
• Natural strategies for managing anxiety, discomfort and pain
• How to be a confident and effective support person
• Medications and birth interventions – risks and benefits
• Breastfeeding
• Understanding and responding to newborn cues
• Neighbourhood child and family support services

Class Options:

• All-day Saturday class: 9:00am – 4:00pm
• Six-week Wednesday evening series: 6:00pm – 8:00pm

Our classes are inclusive of singles, couples, LGBTQIA+ parents, teenagers, and families expecting again. If you are birthing at another hospital, you are still welcome to book if places are available.

Cost:
The total cost for the full program is $120 – one ticket covers a couple.

Bookings:
Bookings are essential, and we recommend enrolling before 24 weeks of pregnancy.

Payment Information:
Once we receive your booking, our Parent Educator will send you a confirmation letter with a link to make your online payment.
Alternatively, you may pay in person at the hospital’s main reception (6:00am – 8:00pm, 7 days a week).
