Harmony Cake Picnic @ Dordaak Kepup Library
Help us celebrate harmony week in delicious fashion at Dordaak Kepup Library and Youth Innovation Hub with an all ages Cake Picnic.
Join our celebrations of Harmony Week at Dordaak Kepup Library and Youth Innovation Hub with our first ever all-ages Cake Picnic!
Food brings us all together and connects us to our families and heritage. Whether it’s a secret ingredient from your Aunty, a treasured memory of cooking with your Oma, or the certain way your cousin layers the kuih lapis, everyone has a treasured food memory to share.
Bring a cake or savoury pastry that means something to you cut into 12-16 pieces. Your ticket entitles you to sample up to 8 slices from the assembled cakes, but only if you bring a cake or pastry yourself! It’s all about sharing*.
We will have cards available for you to fill in about your recipe, including the name, allergens and what it means to you. If you would like to share your recipe, please bring the recipe and we can make copies.
Bring that treasured sausage roll, your baklava, your lemon drizzle, börek, empanadas, Gulab jamun – if it’s special to you, we want to see it.
Tea and Coffee provided.
Children under the age of 10 must be supervised by an adult at all times.
*We note that while this event is talking place during Ramadan, we encourage participants to bring take-away containers for samples if they cannot participate in the eating on the day.
