Hand Twining and String Making with Effie Dee
An introductory class to hand twining and string making.
The workshop will cover the core concepts behind hand twining, which should allow participants to be able to make their own string at any time using materials at hand, including recycled materials, grasses and other fibres.
Come and sit for an hour and learn how to make your own beautiful strings using a variety of materials.
This classic craft is an ideal entry level technique for textiles arts, and will give you the skills required to make string, twine and rope at the drop of a hat from almost anything.
The workshop is being held in the Fitters Workshop - adjacent to the Old Bus Depot Markets (inside the Former Transport Depot building), overlooking Brodburger and the Canberra Glassworks.
This workshop is suitable for beginners.
A minimum of 2 participants is required for the class to run.
Materials are provided and include a wide variety of yarns, ribbons, plastics and other fibres.
