Hand-Built Pottery – Gold Coast | Slab Mug with Stamped Design

Hand-Built Pottery – Gold Coast | Slab Mug with Stamped Design

Overview

Burleigh Heads pottery workshop at The Meraki Connection. Create a beautiful slab mug decorated with stamps, including whales and waves.

In this workshop, you’ll create one slab-built ceramic mug, decorated using patterned stamps to create a design that’s uniquely yours.

You’ll choose from a range of stamps and create either an ocean-inspired mug with waves and whales, or a floral mug, before selecting a glaze colour for the inside of your piece. The slab-building technique creates a clean, contemporary form and offers a different making experience to pinch pot pottery.

If you’ve previously started with pinch pot techniques, this workshop is a great opportunity to broaden your skills and explore slab building. All steps are clearly demonstrated, with guidance provided throughout the session.

This is a relaxed, hands-on pottery experience focused on form, surface design, and craftsmanship. No prior experience is required.

Your finished mug will be professionally glazed and fired, and will be ready for collection approximately 4 weeks after the workshop.
