About this event

  • 2 hours 30 minutes

We understand that hairdressers and beauticians have unique relationships with their clients. They may be able to recognise family violence and respond to clients by providing information on support services.

We are working with FVREE (Free From Family Violence) to provide training to our hairdresser and beautician businesses across Kingston to help them understand how they can support the prevention of family violence.

This FREE interactive online professional development training tailored to hair and beauty salon professionals will add value to your business and community. Using real case studies, you will learn invaluable skills to support your clients, colleagues, friends and family members who may be experiencing family violence.

What will be covered:

• Why you? The role of salon professionals in responding to family violence

• Understanding family violence

• Recognising the signs of family violence within a salon setting

• Responding and referring to disclosures of family violence

This FREE online training event is open to all hairdressers and beauticans operating within the City of Kingston

Registration essential as limited spots available.

A review from Gill a local hairdresser who attended the training last year

"I attended the 3R’s course and loved what I got out of it. It was great to learn more about family violence and realise how many people need help in our local community. As a hairdresser I get that wonderful opportunity to connect with people one on one. This course helped me with noticing when someone might need help and how to approach the conversation, respond and refer them safely to a professional who can help. It was also great to meet other hairdressers and hear how they cope with being a therapist / hairdresser."
