Business Innovation to Create 100 Million Jobs in 10 years
The University of Melbourne EU Centre on Shared Complex Challenges, the Carlton Connect Initiative and Melbourne Accelerator Program, in partnership with the EU Centre for Global Affairs and the Entrepreneurship Commercialisation and Innovation Centre at the University of Adelaide, present the distinguished sustainability innovator, entrepreneur, best-selling author and initiator of 'The Blue Economy', Gunter Pauli.
Using the concept of the ‘Blue Economy’, Gunter Pauli will demonstrate how we can create a portfolio of enterprises that generate multiple benefits for business and society while rejuvenating nature.
The Blue Economy concept can be applied in any industry sector to inspire creative and innovative solutions that strengthen the local economy and harness local skills, capacity and resources.
From drawing on nature to purify water without filters, harnessing waste streams to create new opportunities for agriculture and food production, weed control without chemicals, to making paper from stone - The Blue Economy model offers inspirational and innovative ideas proven in practice to demonstrate that the “future is bright, provided we go beyond the known and the obvious”. Gunter Pauli is a charismatic and engaging speaker with decades of practical experience from around the world in building new enterprises.
Doors open at 6:00pm and the talk will begin promptly at 6:15pm.
Gunter Pauli's entrepreneurial activities span business, culture, science, politics and the environment. His latest initiatives include the design of a solution for the plastic soup floating in the oceans. Gunter has published 20 books, which have been printed in over 30 languages. His next book "From Deep Ecology to Blue Economy: 21 Principles of the New Business Model" will be released later this year.
