GumFest 2026 - Brisbane Botanic Gardens, Mount Coot-tha
Come and celebrate Australia's favourite trees on National Eucalypt Day!
Join us at the Brisbane Botanic Gardens, Mount Coot-tha for a family-friendly celebration of the eucalypt - one of our national botanic treasures. You can learn more about our magnificent gum species and the amazing wildlife they support by attending some talks, guided walks, hands-on workshops and activities for both kids and adults.
Try your hand at nature journalling, learn about dyeing fabric with eucalypt leaves, meet some cheeky flying foxes and much more while experiencing a part of the Botanic Gardens you may never have seen before.
This event supports the Botanic Gardens' commitment to creating a plant-loving community dedicated to putting the 'plant back into planet'.
This event will be held at the Australian Plant Communities section of the Botanic Gardens. You can walk (20–30-minute walk) or jump on the shuttle bus from the Visitor Information Centre. There will be coffee, food and cold drinks available to purchase at the event site. Please wear a hat and covered shoes and bring sunscreen.
