Description

Join Ecologist Rob Speirs and Googong Landcare on a guided tour of this spectacular 54 ha conservation area at Googong Township and meet a Pink-tailed Worm-lizard!

Learn about other species and communities which call the area home including Wedge-tailed Eagles, and the threatened Rosenberg’s Monitor, Scarlet Robin, Hooded Robin, Diamond Firetail, Brown Treecreeper, Hoary Sunray and more!

The Pink-tailed Worm-lizard (also known as Pink-tailed Legless-lizard or Aprasia parapulchella) is a vulnerable species and a large population occurs in the eastern part of Googong Township. They grow up to 25cm in length and look like a combination of small snake and worm.

As the site is very steep in parts, please advise if you have any mobility issues. Sturdy shoes, hat, long sleeves and water bottle are recommended.

Register ASAP - You know what they say … The early bird catches the Pink-tailed Worm … Lizard.
