About this event

A BioBlitz is a type of citizen science project where community members participate with scientists and naturalists to discover, identify and record as many kinds of plants and animals as possible within a chosen area and limited time period.

The GB BioBlitz will include a range of surveys led by local experts including flora walks, and searches for birds and night time insects. Motion sensitive camera will record nocturnal activity and hair funnels will collect animal hair for identification. Spotlighting will reveal the creatures that emerge in the bush after dark .

There will be interactive presentations on how to create wildlife habitat in your own back yard, demonstration of motion sensor cameras, and a session on the art of nature writing.
