**Panel Interview **
Topic - "Growing a hospitality business appealing to both Australian & Chinese customers".
As the largest population in Australia whose first language is not English, Chinese Australian residents pose an opportunity and challenge for hospitality business owners, who are looking to expand their patronage. Similarly, it is essential for Chinese-run hospitality businesses in Australia to adapt to the local market, while at the same time keep authenticity in their product offering.
How to build a product/service offering that meets the expectations of both Australian and Chinese customers? We will approach this topic from both business operations and marketing perspectives.
Lindsey Sun - Director at Meow Media.
Lindsey founded Meow Media in 2016, after identifying a clear gap in the market for cross-culture digital marketing needs and general lack of ROI sophistication in the digital marketing industry. 3 years since then, Meow Media has grown its clientele from Australia to USA, Canada, New Zealand, China and Japan. Lindsey was awarded the '30 under 30' title by the Australian Institute of Management.
Robin Yu - Owner of Kingsfood Restaurants.
Established 30 years ago, Kingsfood Chinese Restaurant has gained its popularity in the local community for its famous Taiwanese cuisine and the traditional bubble tea drinks. Robin, as the owner of the two Kingsfood restaurants in Brisbane, is known for his charismatic management style and unique insights in meeting the needs for customers of either Australian or Chinese background.
Jerry Liang - Founder of Little Red Dumpling
Years of experience and a genuine passion for the food industry prompted Jerry to start his first Little Red Dumpling restaurant a few years ago, and quickly LRD has expanded into 9 restaurants in Queensland. Jerry's exceptional insights and capability in creating unique product value proposition, operational efficiency and strategic partnerships have made him one of the youngest and smartest entrepreneurs in the hospitality industry.
