Overview

Check out some epic views on this day hike with the Adventure Club crew.

Dandenong Ranges — Group Hike

Sunday 29th March | 10:00 AM – 1:00 PM
Doongalla to Burkes Lookout & Observatory Area

The Dandenong Ranges offer a completely different kind of adventure—towering mountain ash, fern-filled gullies and winding forest trails that feel a world away from the city. This hike builds steadily through the forest before finishing at an epic lookout, with sweeping views that make every step worthwhile.

It’s a classic Adventure Club day out: a solid walk, great terrain, good conversation, and coffee at the end.

What to Expect

Starting from Doongalla Picnic Ground, we’ll follow a scenic forest route through shaded trails and gradual climbs, working our way toward Burkes Lookout and the Observatory area.

This is a Grade 3 hike, meaning you can expect uneven ground, sustained climbs and a moderate level of effort. We’ll move at a steady, inclusive group pace with breaks as needed, ensuring everyone has time to recover and enjoy the view.

After the hike, we’ll head to 1 in 20 Café, The Basin for a relaxed post-walk coffee and chat (highly encouraged).

About Adventure Club

Adventure Club is for people who want to get outside more, meet good humans, and feel part of something real.

We bring people together through guided hikes and outdoor adventures, led by experienced Adventure Guides who handle the route, pace and logistics—so you can just show up and enjoy the walk.

Everything we do is shaped by four core values:
Adventure — exploring new places and saying yes more often.
Community — real friendships, no forced icebreakers.
Connection — to nature, to others, and to yourself.
Growth — the kind that happens when you move, share stories and step outside your usual routine.

Life’s better outside. Even better with good people.
